While some people mistakenly think that Hawaiians are exclusive, the Hawaiian Kingdom was an inclusive one including a variety of people of different religions, national origins, ethnicities, etc.
Unfortunately some people seem to disrespect Hawaiians and try to spread lies about Hawaiians going as far as saying that "Hapa" was once a derogatory word. This is untrue. It was NEVER and have NEVER been a derogatory word.
Some have even stated that Hawaiians are being exclusive. That is untrue too as evidence of the varieties of ethnicities represented in many Hawaiians today who are of mixed ethnicities.
